How does it work?

A man becomes a Freemason by being Initiated into a Lodge. This is often one which meets nearest to where he lives or works, although there may be reasons why he joins one further away as there are no restrictions on location.

Traditionally you will have been invited to join a Lodge by somebody you know who thought you would make a good Mason. These days, however, applications to become a Freemason are welcomed through a direct enquiry to the Lodge of your choice or the Province where you live.
